Overview

Looking for skilled volunteers to support the Poverty Reduction Network!

The Poverty Reduction Network is hosting 2 free, income tax prep workshops for low-income residents. The Local Poverty Reduction Network (PRN), which is committed to reducing the effects of poverty in the region and supporting those whose lives have been negatively impacted by poverty. The PRN is a United Way initiative in partnership with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and the Wood Buffalo Food Bank. They work as a collective to raise the issues around poverty and come up with innovative solutions specific to the region.

The dates are March 6th, from 9-5 at the Golden Years Society, downtown and April 16th, at the Syncrude Athletic Park in Timberlea.

We are looking for support from our local accountants, bookkeepers and volunteers who have EFile experience/ accounts.
We will have appointments for people to pre-register and will be accepting minimal walk-ins, unless the appointments don’t fill up.
We would truly appreciate any support volunteers could offer. There are many benefits both for individuals and the region, when we complete our income tax in a timely manner, but we know the challenges when the prices are exorbitant.
