About CARE Wood Buffalo

A healthy community that is brought together through in-person connection and empathic understandings; where every member feels supported in their own way and no one is left behind. CARE is an initiative aimed at connecting residents with each other as well as with supports in the community.

Trained volunteers will be out in neighbourhoods throughout our region connecting with community members and providing them with resources and links to community services.

Join our Dynamic Team!

Care Wood Buffalo is looking for compassionate, community-minded volunteers to join our growing team! You will work as a team of two, alongside a mental health experienced volunteer to connect with adult residents of the municipality of Wood Buffalo on a personal level to ensure they feel supported following the Wild Fire Disaster. An important component of your role will be to ensure residents have access to any services they require, and engage the community to promote recovery and overall well-being and if need arises, refer them to appropriate services. Another important piece will be to gather information about the types of services individuals are accessing and what services are not well known.

All Care Wood Buffalo Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and will be encouraged to attend a training orientation session prior to deployment.

Our next community engagement event is Wednesday July 5th from 5pm-8pm. Volunteer Orientation will take place from 3:30pm-5:00pm
YMCA Eagle Ridge-301 Sparrow Hawk Drive, Eagle Ridge
